The Centreville Baptist Church Safety & Security Program was established in October 2010, and is led by the CBC Director of Security Rick Campbell. The mission of this program is to provide a safe and secure place of worship. This program encompasses three main areas of focus: Safety & Security Ministry, Event & Travel Operations, and Business Operations.
Each area of focus has specific responsibilities as described below:
Safety & Security Ministry (SSM) - this is the platform we use for the volunteers who serve within CBC, to be the eyes and ears of the church during events. They are divided into three teams: Watch Team, Medical Team and Response Team. The Watch Team works on a rotational shift basis and each volunteer is assigned to a post where they monitor that area; watching & listening and then communicating as needed. They are also trained and prepared to act in case of emergencies. The Medical Team is comprised of medical professionals who provide assistance during medical emergencies on campus. The Response Team is trained and equipped to intervene as needed to diffuse incidents and render immediate assistance.
Event & Travel Operations (ETO) - this is the area of focus geared toward event planning (concerts, conferences, picnics, retreats, mission trips, etc.) that occur year round, both on and off the CBC campus. National Travel and International Travel is the focus, by conducting travel briefings, trip assessments, travel training, and communications support.
Business Operations (BO) - this is the area of focus geared toward oversight from a safety and security perspective of all CBC operations. Some examples of oversight include: Background Investigations, Public Safety Liaison, First Aid/CPR/AED Training, In House Training, Equipment purchases, Security Assessments, Incident Management, Incident Investigation, Budget and Policy Development.
